Template Files
A number of working parameters are attributed to the current model. This means that this information is different for each model. It is recorded when you save the model. This information is reused as working values when you re-open this model.
The following parameters can be recorded in a template file:
Lists of predefined texts
Text styles
Customized color palette
Layer configuration
Configuration of sections, planes and elevations manager
Predefined object libraries
Batches
Print configuration
View when opening the file (Plane, Axo, etc.)
Geometry (design elements)
Camera & Section manager settings.
This information together creates a Template that summarizes the parameters and preferences that can vary as per the project type. When you start a new model, you can indicate the system to initialize this new file by adding the internal information of a template of your choice to it.
For example, you can create a template to parameter automatically the text styles that you wish to use while working on a preliminary design, and another template for working drawings.
There are two types of templates:
Default templates
User templates
Default Templates
There are three types of default templates:
Default template used for all the new geometric models (GEOM). This template is recorded in the DEFAULT.III file in the ARCALIB/TEMPLATE/MODEL system directory of ARC+.
15 colors template that can be used for all the new geometric models (GEOM). This template is recorded in the ARC+15col.III file in the ARCALIB/TEMPLATE/ MODEL system directory of ARC+.
System template used for all the new layout models (DSG). This template is recorded in the d@ DEFAULT.III file in the ARCALIB/TEMPLATE/DSG system directory of ARC+.
Default templates are used when you start ARC+, the displayed blank model then uses the Default template.
User Templates
In ARC+, you can create as many templates as you want. These new templates are user templates; they can contain the above given elements (customized color palette, text styles, layer configuration) that you can set as per your wish. In this way, you can start a new model as per your preferences and settings.
When you choose to start a new file using a user template, ARC+ displays the contents of the two ARCALIB directories maintained specially for storing the user templates as required:
…ARCALIB\TEMPLATE\MODELS folder when you work in modeling mode (GEOM).
…ARCALIB\TEMPLATE\DSG folder when you are working on a layout (DSG).
