Manipulation

This chapter describes how to move, copy, and rotate selected entities in your drawings. Most manipulation commands operate on the selection groups. They must be selected before using the command.

Manipulations of selection groups move or copy the entities without actually changing the entity itself. The exceptions are the stretch commands, which change the entity itself.

The commands for moving and copying entities are similar. The difference depends on whether the selected item itself, or a copy of the selected item, moves to the new location, while the original remains. You can copy multiple entities at the same time.
