Junctions
Junctions
You can create different types of junctions to deal with the variety of situations where walls meet. There are three main types of junctions:
T-junctions between two walls
Intersections or X-junctions between two walls
Complex junctions between three or four walls
There may be a large number of permutations to resolve a junction between walls. You may create a T-junction between walls. You have the option to join (merge) walls even if they have a different number of layers or to keep the wall layers separate. Each layer can penetrate into any layer in the second wall and each layer may either join (merge) or not join the layer to which it has penetrated.
ARC+ provides a library of predefined solutions, to which you may add your own. For each wall junction you can decide whether to join (merge) the wall or display it as a non-continuous wall.
The system refers to the walls that are to be joined as the head and the leg of the T. The head of the T is the continuous wall while the leg is the wall that abuts it.
The solutions are dependent on the number of layers in each wall, rather than the specific wall type. Thus, a solution between a three and five layer wall will be valid for all junctions between walls whose names are prefixed by the codes l3- and l5-, irrespective of the layer widths.
