Plotting and printing
A plotter or printer connected to your computer or on a Network enables you to print your drawings. Additionally it also enables a plot file to be printed on another computer or through a print service. In the setup of ARC+ is a PDF driver included enabling you to print to world standard PDF.
ARC+ provides maximum flexibility both in choosing the printing device and sending drawings to either a plotter or printer. ARC+ also provides an interface in the form of a dialog box to create file formats for plot and MET files (Obsolete) or for print files. The option to choose a printer either from a Windows environment or from a wide range of plotters supported by ARC+ is also available. Plotting (obsolete) does not support different settings for pen numbers 16-255 . Pen 16-255 will have same settings as Pen 1. Plotting does NOT support images, fill and true type font texts. For best results, it is recommended to use the \print command instead of \plot.
The desired view of the model must be defined in the working window prior to plotting and printing. You can print directly from modeling mode, for single files. To arrange multiple views of the same model or different models on a single drawing sheet, please refer to chapter 21 – Drawing Sheet Generator (DSG)
A screen capture of your model appearing in the working window generated in ARC+ can be exported in various formats.
The printed documents content may vary according to your work methods. Initial planning is a prerequisite, for example, by organizing the entities of your model in multiple ARC+ layers in a way which will enable youto easily hide or display them, as required (See Layers).
