Hatching and Patterns

ARC+ provides several methods to graphically fill areas of a model and to create textures or patterns on surfaces.

A hatch pattern is a series of parallel lines drawn with specified directions, spacing and line types. Hatch patterns are typically used to represent:

Texture

Section surfaces

Wall layer materials

An area fill pattern is a predesigned motif that is repeated to fill an area. Typical uses of area fill patterns are for:

Materials

Bricks

Roof tiles

Paving

A linear pattern is a predesigned unit that is repeated along a line. Typical uses are for:

Insulation

Earth

Wall layer materials

You can create multiple hatches or crosshatches. You can work with libraries of predefined area fill patterns and linear patterns, or you can design your own patterns.

You can fill a wall layer with a hatch or linear pattern. See Walls, Hatching walls (\mwfil).
