Importing and Exporting a File

You can convert your ARC+ files to other formats and convert other CAD formats to the ARC+ format:

DXF files—to import a model to ARC+ from other CAD programs. The DXF (Drawing eXchange Format) is an industry standard format. The imported model is converted to the ARC+ format and you can edit or work with it exactly like any ARC+ model.

DWG files—to import standard AutoCAD® file drawing base (*.dwg) files directly to ARC+. This method is quicker, produces smaller files than the DXF conversion, and is recommended for AutoCAD® files.

Polygon description files—to export a model from ARC+ for further processing with other software, such as a rendering, graphics, or desktop publishing program.

DWF files and files for web presentation. - To export the files from ARC+ to websites or to send them by e-mail.

Dump files—to produce the contents of an ARC+ model in a printed ASCII format.

The various files can be recognized by the following extensions:
