Snap Toolbar
This toolbar enables you to manage the snap of ARC+ entities.
Command Description
ICONACTION
Set the Dynamic Snap mode On/Off. Toggles between with or without preview snap.
Cancel preferences – this button disables the Dynamic Snap options.
Set the snap at the end point of a segment or at the corner of an entity.
Set the snap at the mid point of a segment.
Set the snap at the intersection point of two segments.
Set the snap at the nearest point of a segment or entity.
Set the snap at the center of a circle.
Set the snap at the point perpendicular to a segment or entity.
Set the snap at the insertion point of a placed object or at the justification point of a text.
Set the snap at the tangent point of an arc, circle or ellipse.
Open the User preferences dialog box.
Set Dynamic Snap On/Off
You can use this switch to activate or deactivate the Dynamic Snap mode. When the dynamic snap mode is active, ARC+ displays the colored icons to locate the points that can be snapped, as per the options you have selected (snap at mid point, end point, etc.) When this mode is disabled and one or more snap options are selected, the snap still works but no preview is available. However, you need to ensure that you are using the mouse button that is configured for snap (you can check the mouse configuration in the User preferences dialog box).
Cancel Preferences
This function activates the dynamic snap mode and disables all snap options selected earlier.
NOTE: Display snap coordinates option in the User preferences dialog box was activated to have a better view of the following images.
End Point
Icon used in snap toolbar:
Snap Marker:
When snap at end point is active, the system automatically takes the end points or the corners of the entities in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored square around the point to identify it easily.
Mid Point

When snap at mid point is active, the system automatically takes the mid point of a segment in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored triangle around the point to identify it easily.
Intersection Point

When snap at intersection point is active, the system automatically takes the point of intersection between two segments in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored cross on the point to identify it easily.
Nearest Point

When the dynamic snap at the nearest point is active, the system takes automatically the nearest points on the segments or entities in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored hourglass on the point to identify it easily.
Center

When snap at center is active, the system automatically takes the center points of the circles, ellipses and arcs in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored triangle around the point to identify it easily.
Perpendicular
Icon used in snap toolbar:

When snap at perpendicular point is active, the system takes automatically the point on a segment perpendicular to the last entered point. ARC+ displays a colored right angle symbol on the point to identify it easily.
Insertion Point

When snap at the insertion point is active, the system takes automatically the insertion point of placed objects and justification point of texts in the snap aperture box. ARC+ displays a colored double square around the point to identify it easily.
Tangent
Icon used in snap toolbar:
Snap Marker:
When snap at tangent point is active, the system takes automatically the point on an arc or a circle that is tangent to the last entered point. ARC+ displays a colored symbol of a tangent line on the point to identify it easily.
Open the User Preferences Dialog Box
This button opens the User preferences dialog box.
