Snapping to a Specific Point

Specify a precise point for the cursor position.

\snap

Type the x,y,z coordinate values for the desired point (with a space between each value) or snap to an existing point using the cursor. The default snapping point is 0 0 0. The cursor snaps to the specified point and the coordinates on the status line are updated.
You can use this command to move to a working plane parallel to the current one, with a different co-ordinate on the third axis. For example: You are currently working on the xy plane at a value of 3 on the z axis. Use this command to snap to a coordinate with a z value of 6. The xy plane remains active but at the new location on the z axis.
When you snap to a point, the priority of the system search near the cursor has been redefined.
First priority closest intersection or end point.
Second priority arc (point on a real geometric arc, not arc segment)
Last priority nearest point
The snap searches for entities in the area of the cursor (which is defined by the Snap Aperture Box around the cursor). The default number of entities in the search for the snap is 250 (for each type given above). The search for entities is performed according to data in the database, and not according to what is on the screen.
