Using the Layer Manager

Perform various layer management functions via the Layer Manager. You can access the Layer Manager directly from the tool bar:

You can also access it by pressing Enter after choosing one of the layer commands.

The layer manager dialog box incorporates the functionality of all the layer commands. You can continue using the commands individually on the input line, or choose them from the pull-down menus / toolbars.

The Layer Manager is used for:

Creating layers or layer groups

Naming or renaming layers or layer groups

Deleting layers or layer groups

Setting the default working layer

Hiding or displaying layers

Selecting and deleting the contents of certain layers

Saving a layers configuration (style)
