Choose one of the following options:

Open a new drawing sheet

Open an existing sheet

When you enter the DSG, the screen background changes color. The system sets the following working parameters:

View set to plan (XY)

View mode set to parallel (non-perspective)

Scale mode set to automatic

Reference scale set to 1(\tscrn)

Text and dimension entities set to scaled

The file that you were working on before entering the DSG and the previous system settings are restored when you leave the DSG.

Operation

Choose to open an existing file or a new file.

If you open an existing file, specify one of the three DSG display modes:

Frames only

Contents only

Both frames and contents

For illustrated examples of these modes, see Setting the display mode of the drawing sheet (\dmode).

Specify the name of the file to edit or choose the file from the dialog box.

If you are starting a new sheet, define the X and Y dimensions in millimeters.

In both cases you are asked to specify the tick type and size, and the extension line size of dimension lines.

The specified file is loaded or, if you opened a new sheet, a rectangle of broken lines is drawn and fitted to the screen.

You can now place drawings on the sheet by automatic or fixed scaling. The various placing options are discussed in the following paragraphs:

Placing an entire drawing — automatic scaling (\dpaut)

Placing an entire drawing — specified scaling (\dpscl)

Placing and clipping a drawing — automatic scaling (\dcaut)

Placing and clipping a drawing — specified scaling (\dcscl)
