Setting the Sun Position
Set the position of the sun relative to the model. You can choose from four preset directions or enter the exact position.
\sun
Use this command to set the position of the sun (or parallel light source) for the shaded surfaces and shadow options of the Setting solid viewing options (\dspmod) command.
Press the space bar and Enter for the Set Sun Position dialog box. Using the latitude of major cities in the world you can enter the date and time and calculate the vector coordinates for the sun position. Or enter the vector coordinate location.
You can also specify an xyz coordinate location via the keyboard. The sun will be located along a line that connects the specified location to the origin (0 0 0).
NOTE In the shaded surfaces and shadows displays, you may choose to illuminate the surfaces of your model from a light source located at either the sun or the eye position. Shadows, however, are always computed from the sun position.
