Saving your Work

image\ebx_1712504276.gif IMPORTANT ARC+ model files are the permanent record of your creative designs. Protect your files by investing a few minutes each day to save, organize, and back them up.

To protect your work from power failures, accidental erasure, etc., save it on your hard disk at regular intervals during every work session.

Always keep more than one up-to-date copy of important files. Keep your backup copies in a location that is separate from your computer and safe from flood, fire or other disaster.

When you make a backup, you can use the Copying a model and its associated files (\fcopy) command to include associated files that you may have created or edited since your previous backup, such as placed object and library files. You should also backup batch files and any other types of files that you may want to use in the future.

To organize your files and find them easily, use a separate disk directory, CD or DVD, for each project or each phase of a large project.

It is especially important to back up your files before installing a new version of ARC+. For information on installation procedures, see Getting Started, Installation.
