Quick Placing

Use the quick placing command to insert openings without defining parametric values—that is, the exact size and multiple displays for the opening. Openings are placed in the wall using the dimensions with which they were originally created.

Specify the height of the opening above the floor.

Select the opening from the Select Library File dialog box and press OK.

Indicate the wall and place the opening or press Enter to select a new opening from the dialog box.

You can choose predesigned openings from the library, or create your own set of openings. If you create your own, it is recommended to type the opening dimensions in the description field of the Save Library File dialog box. This way you’ll know the precise dimensions of the opening when working with the quick placing command. For more information about creating openings see, Create parametric openings & end conditions.

Once openings are inserted, you can use any of the standard editing commands to update them. See Updating openings.
