Map and Model Types
Several graphic topographic representations may be generated, including 2D maps, models of contours in 3D space, solid contour prisms and triangulated nets.
2D Maps
Topographic maps consist of contour polygons on the XY plane, (Z = 0). Each contour is a separate 2D polygon. The height (Z value) of the contour appears as a text entity. Text size and attributes are determined by the current \atext settings.
3D Contour Models
Models of 3D contours consist of contour polygons created at the appropriate height (Z value). The height (Z value) does not appear as a text entity. Each contour is a separate 2D polygon entity.
Solid Contour Prisms
Solid contour prism models are sets of simple solid entities based on the 3D contours. Each prism is a separate 3D solid. The prisms produce more dramatic effect on the contour lines than the 3D contour model.
