Text

You can easily add various types of text to your drawing or model, such as: labels, explanatory notes occupying several lines, or names on buildings or signs.

Enter text as a single line of text on the input line, as a text block via a dialog box, or by importing a text file. You can specify the direction of the text (horizontal, vertical, or sloped) and attributes such as character size, font, color, and justification. If you wish, you can later edit the text or change its attributes.

You can create text on the major planes of your drawing, i.e., in the XY, XZ, and YZ planes. The text is displayed with its original orientation in any view. For example, if you create text in a right elevation view, it will appear at an angle in axonometric view and backwards in the left elevation view.

The basic concepts for text are described in this chapter. Since linear patterns and dimensions are closely related to text, some of the descriptions are applicable to these as well (see Hatching and patterns and Dimensions)
