Generating Dim Automatically within a Range
Generate a horizontal or vertical sequence of dimension lines automatically within a specified range or region of the model.
\dimau
Indicate a location point through which the dimension line will pass. Indicate two range points in the drawing between which dimensions are required.
If the line between the range points is within 45° of horizontal, a horizontal dimension line is created. Dimensions are generated at all vertical lines in the range that intersect the dimension line.
Otherwise, a vertical dimension line is created. Dimensions are generated at all horizontal lines in the region that intersect the dimension line.
To create additional dimension lines in other regions of your drawing, continue to indicate additional pairs of range points. The new dimension lines are aligned with the location point but—depending on the orientation of the range points - may be either parallel or perpendicular to the first dimension line.
