Changing the Length of Lines

Shorten or stretch lines and arcs keeping their original position and attributes.

\short

Select one of the following options:

by point

Indicate the line/arc (on the side to update), and define the trim point. The line or arc is shortened or lengthened to this point. If the point is not on the entity to trim, the line is trimmed to a perpendicular projection of the point on the line or a radial point on the arc.

by dimension

Indicate the line/arc (on the side to update). Enter the length/angle by which the indicated entity is to be trimmed. Specify a positive value to lengthen the line or a negative value to shorten the line. The entity is trimmed by the specified length/angle.

to dimension

Indicate the line/arc (on the side to keep). Enter the new length/angle for the indicated entity. The entity is trimmed to the specified length/angle starting from the indicated side.
