Change Library Path

If you use a partial installation (network) on a computer, with libraries on both your hard disk and network, use the following command to choose the path of the library that you want to use.

\arcalib

You can choose between a local, network or free path. The path you select remains current between sessions until you change it again.

Library Search Path

You can reset the search priority for placed objects from libraries.

image\ebx_1712504276.gif IMPORTANT This option is only relevant to objects that exist under the same name — in both the working directory and the original library—and are placed from a graphic library.

Search the original library first & then the working directory.

Search the current directory first and then for the original library path (system default). This method is similar to that in Version 7, except that the original path is no longer limited to arcalib.

Utilize this option to replace a placed object in your current directory (for example, a first sketch design), with a final detailed design from your library elements directory of the same name, by redefining the search path.

Additional Drives or Identical Drives with Different Names

List alternative drives (type without a colon (:)) to search for placed objects from the full library path. This is needed if you change the address of your disk drives (or add an additional drive) or when transferring files with placed objects from network drives and CD-ROMs, that may have different path names in different computers When you add the additional drive, ARC+ will be able to locate the placed objects/libraries.
