View Control Windows

View Control Pop-up Menu

The view control menu displays the commands of the most frequently used view in a pop up menu.

The View control menu offers the following view features:

Zooming

Standard architectural views (not in zoom control windows)

Screen refresh

Show the view control pop-up menu by pressing B3, with the cursor inside a control window. Choose the desired option. The command operates on the view in the control window only.
In addition to the standard zoom commands, the exact full zoom maximizes the view of the model to fill the window.

NOTE This has a slightly different result from the Filling the screen (\fitsc) (see Viewing, Setting the screen scaling mode, command \sclmode).

See Viewing chapter for explanations of the commands listed in the View control menu.

View control window

Use the view control windows for the graphic command of eye position and target. The window consists of a projection which is a special symbol of eye/target, indicating:

Eye position

Target position

Sight cone angle

Drag the eye or target to change the view. Drag the line between the eye and target to move them both together.

The two lines in the eye/target symbol indicate the sight cone angle in the perspective mode that is the extent of the view covered by the working window. In parallel view the lines are parallel, while in perspective they radiate from the eye position.

Zoom Control Windows

Use the zoom control window to zoom or pan the working window. The inner surface of the zoom window is displayed inside the working window. Resize and move the zoom window using the mouse.

Zoom in or out to change the size of the fence by dragging the mouse on the corner of the fence. Reducing the fence size enlarges the view on the working window, and vice versa.
Pan the view in the working window using the mouse to drag the center of the fence over the model.

NOTE All windows can be arranged as docking windows sliding them by holding the mouse to the area you like.

Working with multiple working windows

A working window becomes current window when you click on it.
The view control windows, open when a certain working window is active, work in that working window only and close when it is closed.

When a working window becomes current window, the control views related to it are displayed in foreground.

You can arrange all your working windows on the screen by using tile or cascade options in the windows menu. To display a window covered completely by other window, e.g. by a maximized window, select next window from the windows menu.
