Querying Solid Type—Regular or Complex

A simple solid is a solid consisting of two polygons joined by their base. Its surfaces, except its two bases are not polygons. All the surfaces of a complex solid are polygons. You can verify the type of solid by selecting it with the Creation of a new selection group (\snew) command. When you indicate the edges of a simple polygon, they are highlighted. You can see that they are not connected with each other, but they connect the two base polygons. When you indicate any edge of a complex solid, the polygon that you indicate is highlighted, that is a closed loop.
