Placing an Object in Its Original Position and Size

Place an object in the model maintaining the object’s original position, size, and orientation.

Type the name of the object or press Enter for the library dialog box and select the object (see Using the library dialog box).

The object is placed in its original position (i.e., with the origin point of the source file at the origin of the model) and with the same orientation and size as the original.

Use this method to assemble the various parts of a project into a file containing the whole project. The actual modeling is done in the separate partial files, each of which is a placed object in the final file. This file is therefore always up to date and is kept relatively small, saving disk space. This also facilitates the removal, replacement, and copying of elements within the overall de-sign.
