Creating a Line at an Offset

Create a parallel line offset to a guide line that you define

\oflin

Specify the offset distance between the guide line and the line you want to create. Select the point where you want to start the guide line.

As you stretch the elastic guide line to the second point, the offset line is drawn parallel to the guide line at the specified offset distance.

Swivel the offset line to either side of your base line by pressing Alt+1. You can continue drawing additional offset lines, until you enter a different command. Connections from each new line to the previous line are resolved by the system.

Cancel the offset by pressing Alt+2, which enables you to continue drawing regular lines.

This command operates on the xy plane only.
