User Preferences


You can use this dialog box to set and edit all snap parameters.

It can be used to set the dynamic snap on/off, activate the snap options and control the snap display parameters (size, color, etc.) You can also use it to browse to other interdependent dialog boxes (Mouse configuration, Snap filter, Constraints).
Functions of User Preferences Dialog Box

Dynamic Snap ON– Activate/deactivate dynamic snap.

Select All and Clear All buttons to select or deselect all snap options in a single click.
Display snap marker – This function, by default active, displays the markers used for each snap option.
Magnetize - This function, by default active, pastes the flexible line of the entity you select to an element existing already in the defined snap aperture box, provided that one or more snap options are active.

HINT: you can combine this option to draw a 2D or 3D vector in a specific direction and of a defined length.

Display Snap Coordinates– This function, by default disabled, displays a tooltip showing the X, Y and Z coordinates of the marked point and the corresponding snap option in the defined snap aperture box and as per the snap options active.

NOTE: When the view is set to Top View, only the X and Y coordinates are displayed. When the view is an axonometric view, X, Y and Y coordinates are displayed.

Display Snap Aperture box – This function, by default disabled, displays the contour of snap aperture box. The snap aperture box is an area around the cursor (its size is defined by the potentiometer "Snap Aperture Box" described below). The selected snap options are active inside this area.
Crosshair cursor - This function, by default disabled, displays the markers in the form of "flexible lines" across the screen – one parallel to X axis, other to Y axis.
Illuminate snapped entity - This function, by default active, underlines the entities that are inside the snap aperture box to find easily the element to be snapped.

You can use this color selector to select the color that will be used for the different snap markers. The default color is red.

You can use this potentiometer to adjust the size of different snap markers.

You can use this potentiometer to adjust the size of snap aperture box.

You can use this button to set the new snap mode of ARC+. When the new snap mode is active, all snap options are checked and preferences like display snap marker, Illuminate snapped entity and magnetize are selected. The mouse configuration is set as per the new Snap style (left button for Snap, scroll button for free point and right button for contextual menu).

You can also use the following command to set this mode:
\snapset
