Sun

 

A light source emitting light from the Sun (i.e., a very distant source). The position, intensity and color of the sun can be set either automatically based on a date and time, or world, or camera relative, depending on the 'Sun direction' setting.

Sky type: Allows atmospheric conditions to be specified.

Cloudiness: Concentration of clouds in the sky

o Default: 0
o Range: 0.0 - 1

Pressure: Atmospheric pressure in mill-bar

o Default: 1013
o Range: 900 - 1100

Alpha: Type of environment.

o Default: Rural
o Range: Rural / Mountain / Maritime.

Shadow: Switch shadows on or off for this light source.

o Default: Off.
o Range: On / Off.

Shadow type: Specify hard (ray-cast) or soft (shadow-mapped) shadows.

o Default: Soft.
o Range: Hard / Soft.

Shadow transparency: Specify the way that shadows through transparent objects are handled.

o Default: global.
o Range: Displacement, Global, Interpolate, On.

Shadow acceleration: Specify method used for accelerating ray cast shadows.

o Default: No.
o Range: None / Maps

Shadow resolution: The resolution of the shadow map (if soft shadows are specified).

o Default: 256.
o Range: 50 – 2048.


In case of “Sun direction”, different then “Time” and “Auto intensity” off, user will have in the sky options three more option to set: Color temperature, color and intensity. In case of auto intensity, these parameters are automatically calculated from the time and geographic position. (The meaning of these parameters is the same used in Sky).
