Entering the Quantities Mode
Set the parameters, execute volume and area calculations and generate seven different reports.
\quant
The calculation result is displayed on the screen in a way similar to the display of the area calculation result, in the form of a report (in a format that is compatible with the format of the programs for processing bills of quantities).
The texts of walls and openings are added to the model; and polygons for room floors and for areas of openings and walls.
The following commands appear on the side menu of the quantity calculations screen:
\calcset ¾ Calculation settings
\filter ¾ Refine identification of space-defining entities
\roomname ¾ Assign room names
\roomnum ¾ Assign room numbers
\floordef ¾ Create floor polygon
\roomdiv ¾ Add subdivision lines
\reduce ¾ Indicate reduction area
\sortkey ¾ Add sorting attribute
\numdisp ¾ Hide/display room numbers
\report ¾ Make reports
\viewrpt ¾ View reports
\qroom ¾ Query room or floor
\clearcal ¾ Clear calculation results
\geom ¾ Return to geometric mode
\end ¾ Exit ARC+
\area ¾ Switch to area calculations
IMPORTANT You must generate 3D walls for your model before calculating Quantities. Use the Walls, Creating 3D walls and openings (\mw3d) command (the walls may be sectioned walls).
When you calculate the quantities, ID text for rooms, walls and openings is added to the model.
Many of the commands in area and quantity calculations are identical. Therefore, if you previously identified rooms and spaces for area calculations, you do not have to repeat the procedure before performing quantity calculations. You can proceed directly to making the reports.
If you are performing the calculations for the first time, refer to the previous section on area calculations on how to use the following commands:
Filter
Room naming
Room numbering
Defining floor polygons
Creating space divisions
Indicating reduction areas
Displaying/hiding room numbers
Querying a room or floor
Resetting calculation results
Returning to geometric mode
Exit ARC+
Switching calculations mode (to AREA)
Since these options have been described in the area calculations section, only the commands specific to quantity calculations are described below.
