Creating a Layout Grid

Creates a layout grid and defines its attributes.

\lgrid

You can use the dialog box to select the type of layout grid and then set its attributes and parameters. Click on Symbol icon to open the grid symbol library, then select an entry from the list displayed.
Click OK to create the grid.
NOTE Grid lines are now grouped and can be edited as a group.
Creating Layout Grids
Select the type of layout grid that you want to define:
Regular (at regular interval)
Plaid (at variable interval)
Press Enter if you want to set the grid attributes described in the following section.
Define the grid origin and a direction point. The direction defined by these two points is considered as the x direction of the grid. Press Enter if x grid direction is parallel to the x axis of the system.
Regular Grid
Specify the distance between the grid lines that are perpendicular to x axis as well the number of lines. Specify the same for the grid lines that are perpendicular to y direction. Press Enter for the same distance as the x direction.

Plaid Grid
Specify whether you want to define the distances by value (numeric input) or by points (graphically).
BY VALUE
Specify the distances between consecutive grid lines along the x axis. Press Enter to repeat a distance or type 0 to specify the distances along the y axis and 0 again to execute the grid.
BY POINTS
Define the points for the grid lines along the x direction. Press Enter to define the points along the y direction and press Enter again to execute the grid.
Setting the Layout Grid Attributes
Specify the type and color for the grid lines and the layer in which the layout grid is to be created.
Specify whether you want to add symbols to the end(s) of the grid lines to frame the grid. Specify on which side(s) of the line you want to attach the symbol.
Specify the number, characters or a combination to start the notation for x and y lines (maximum three characters). The system continues the numbering sequentially, starting from the specified annotation.
Define the length of extension lines. This is how much the line should extend over the last grid intersection.
State how the symbol is to be specified:
Current symbol
Specified by name
Selected from a library...
Specify the symbol name or select it from the library. Then specify the size of the symbol. The size of the annotation text is adjusted to fit in the symbol and is defined as scaled text.
NOTE Since the grids can be created in any direction, the line joining the origin and the direction point is considered as the x direction of the grid, and should not be confused with the x axis of the system.
