Drawing Sheet Generator (DSG)
The DSG mode provides editing tools to create and organize drawing sheets for output from the system.
The specified drawing (paper) size is represented as a rectangle on the XY plane. You can assemble the drawing sheet from a collection of drawings or parts of them. Each drawing can be placed anywhere on the drawing sheet, trimmed, scaled and rotated independently. The component drawings are regular ARC+ files and do not have to be converted or processed. Usually, you place 2D projections of your model. If you place 3D models, they are seen in wireframe in plan view only.
In addition to placing drawings, you can also create text and other graphic entities on the sheet while in the DSG, such as lines and 2D polygons to complement the layout of the drawings. The finished drawing sheet, can be saved for plotting and can be edited in the future. The drawing sheets are saved as regular ARC+ drawing files.
IMPORTANT While working in the DSG it is recommended to use only nested commands, such as zooming in/out as well as those commands specifically designed for the DSG.
The following ARC+ commands must not be used in the DSG:

\crot |
\csym |
\catt |
\movef |

Drawings placed in the DSG are not copied into the drawing sheet file. They contain references to the original placed files only. If you change the original file after placing it on the drawing sheet, the change will be reflected on the drawing sheet next time you load it in the DSG. If you erase the original file, move it to a different directory or change its name after placing it in the drawing sheet, the Drawing Sheet will not be able to locate the file.
HINT When selecting a drawing, you can choose to show its frame or its content. However, it is preferable to show its frame as it saves time.
NOTE Screen or line colors described in this chapter may vary depending on your configuration.
